The Maroon Bells and Lake outside Aspen Colorado are a place everyone wants to see on a visit here especially in fall. I can see why, the contrast of the blue sky and fall's brilliant colors is amazing! The lake is seldom this still so the reflection of the peaks is a bonus. This is what I like to call the color peak. Some prefer all yellow but I find that all yellow most often means some bare trees as well. I enjoy the fading greens which at times can appear to be overwhelmed by the color yellow seeping out of the grove.
Worthwhile to see the Maroon Bells and Lake at fall peak and this scene shows why. The sky, tree, and rock colors create a beautiful contrast and the scene is so clear at mid morning the scene becomes a bit surreal. Getting here most often requires a car reservation and an early start these days, or a bus ride later in the morning until late afternoon. Go as early as you can stand, sunrise and the morning are better light in almost any weather. I have been taking images of this area for 40 years, and am not done yet!
The saturated colors of this image say metal or acrylic media to me. The image however would be very pleasing on canvas or an art paper if you prefer a less modern look. Try the framing options area for the canvas, you can create a truly unique look for your home there.
