The Maroon Bells and Lake are famous world wide for the stunning beauty of the peaks, lake and trees. The beauty of the area is never more breathtaking than in fall when the color change of the aspen trees peaks. This particular morning I visited the area with family and caught the trees at peak, the sky a vibrant blue, and the lake almost perfectly still reflecting it all. Doesn't happen that often!
In fall the Maroon Bells and Lake are a scenic marvel perhaps more so that any other time of the year. The vibrant blue sky, strong gold and yellows in the aspen tree leaves, and crystal clear weather combine to make a brilliant scene. A nearly windless morning also contributed by allowing a near perfect reflection in the lake. Many times I have stood in this spot hoping for the wind to die down. On this morining it complied!
The place is so wildly popular that added protections which limit the number of visitors have become necessary to keep it's ethereal beauty as pristine as possible. Make a reservation to drive or bus up if you are in the area the views and hiking options are well worth the trip.
My preference for this image would be metal or acrylic media both of which would bring out the stunning color and detail. A fine art print framed or canvas would be a fun way to see this image also. Though not as vibrant there is so much color and detail here you will still be pleased by the choice.
